Original dust wrapper, some edge wear, rub, adhesive, crease clipped, protected in fine clear sleeve. First edition dust wrapper with Father Cody error as the bad priest misprint as Callahan was the "bad priest." Blood red boards, black cloth spine wrap, gilt spine titles, moderate shelf wear, clean. First edition stated, code Q37 at page 439. Rare early signature on original SK bookplate features Stephen King printed in bold capital letter font seen on early SK novels with thatched border. Beautifully signed on custom SK bookplate at front endpaper: "Stephen King". Christensen, Dave (Jacket Illustration) (illustrator). Signed, dated and inscribed by Stephen King. A solid, bright VG or better copy in near fine DJ. Considering Stephen King no longer signs backlog, a signed copy of his most difficult title speaks for itself. An early copy of Stephen King's second title and arguably most difficult title.

DJ is about fine only flaw is some sunning to red hue on the title on the spine. DJ in same design and artwork as the first printing. FFEP corner has previous owners names neatly written in ink. Pages lay tight and undisturbed seemingly unread.

Light shelf-rub at base on black binding. Faint shallow stain along bottom panel edges. No mention of any King titles other than Carrie and Salem's Lot on DJ.
